Carbon fibre ribbon for FRP systems

CARBOFILL is a standard carbon fibre ribbon featuring high unidirectional resistance. Once impregnated with specific products from the NORPHEN CARBO range, it will produce a composite material of very high mechanical standards (greater than steel), particularly suited to reinforce concrete or brick constructions.

Range of use
CARBOFILL is best used as a light material replacing traditional reinforcement systems like Beton Plaqué. It can also be used:
  • as an alternative to steel H-girders to reinforce beams, to increase the bearing capacity of floors when there is a change in building plans, and to improve the bearing capacity of vaults (even brick ones);
  • when there is a general need to increase structural rigidity and resistance;
  • to boost a structure bearing capacity and stress resistance;
  • to improve concrete structures resistance to corrosion, frost, carbonation and chlorides.

Reinforced structural fibres for concrete

FIBRE DI ACCIAIO are filaments (extracted from cold-drawn strands of steel with low carbon content) which, inserted into a cast of concrete, substitute the steel reinforcement mesh. The fibres have mechanical anchors in the form of hooks at the two extremities so as to improve resistance to fraying; the fibers are glued in small plaques to facilitate their introduction into the concrete.

FIBRE IN ACCIAIO can be used as reinforcement of concrete in:
  • Industrial pavements (where joints are far from one another);
  • roads;
  • parking areas.
Advantages
  • the use of reinforced concrete with FIBRE IN ACCIAIO reduces the installation time compared to the mesh method;
  • the thickness of the pavement, with comparable strength, can be reduced using  FIBRE IN ACCIAIO compared to the mesh method;
  • the equal distribution of stress on the pavement following the use of FIBRE IN ACCIAIO improves the maximum load supportable by the flooring;
  • the equal distribution of FIBRE IN ACCIAIO in the whole depth of the flooring improves the resistance to cracking;
  • the use of concrete reinforced with FIBRE IN ACCIAIO allows the increase in the distance between joints.

Synthetic fibers for concrete reinforcement

FIBRE PE is a concrete reinforcement fiber made of extruded polyester having straightened and oriented fibers with wholly corrugated surfaces. Morover, each fiber shows an original double-hook shape by its edges that allows an excellent grasping the cementitious compound.

FIBRE PE are ready to mix with concrete and allow to replace the shrinkage control steel mesh or rebar.

Fields of application
FIBRE PE can be used for concrete reinforcement instead of the classic steel mesh or rebar particularly in:
  • industrial concrete floors (with expansion or construction joints);
  • roadways;
  • parking places.
Dosage
Typical dose rates fall in the range of 5 to 6 kg/m³ particularly for concrete floors.

Can be employed with water proofing systems and the following products:

MAT 22 is powder like and is not usable to reinforce solvent systems like NORPHEN ESTER PE and VE: if required, use a liquid reinforcement of 300 and 450 gr/m².

Due to its flexibility is applicable to reinforce water proofing systems on elastic surfaces, on corners and corrugated or irregular coverings.

II gives a surface a lemon peel finish that can be smoothed with two coats of smoothing compound applied with a float.

NYCON 100

NYCON 100 is a continuous filament synthetic fiber mat weighing 100 grams per square meter.  

Uses
It easily impregnated  by water based or solvent based liquids to make waterproof membranes with high mechanical resistance.

NYCON 100 is the specific reinforcement foe waterproofing systems using  BETONGUAINA or BETONGUAINA.S on fairly flat surfaces.

Due to its rigidity it is not applicable to vertical or cornering surfaces: In this case use MAT 22. When dealing with surfaces with sagging and irregularities, use reinforcements like NYCON F or MAT 22 but the mechanical rigidity will be reduced.

NYCON F

Alkali resistant continuous fibre flake mat

NYCON F is a loose  fibre mat in heat bonded synthetic fiber with a weight of 100 grams per square metre..

Uses
It easily impregnated  by water based or solvent based liquids to obtain an ideal support  for waterproof membranes with good mechanical resistance.

It is used mainly to reinforce liquid membranes that need to be applied to uneven surfaces: in fact, when surfaces are flat, it  is preferable to use support such as NYCON 100 and NYCON 200 that have much higher specifications for resistance to traction and crack bridging,

NYCON F is not applicable when using BETONGUAINA; it may be used to reinforce particular spots. Viscous products, like the elastomeric two pack NORPHEN PU, must be applied with a steel float so that all air trapped inside reinforcements during impregnation is expelled.

FIBERGLASS NET 160 (RETE DI VETRO 160)  is a fibreglass support weighing 160 gr/m² prepared with resins that favour adhesion to various types of binders

Uses
FIBERGLASS NET 160 is indispensable as a reinforcement when using  NORPHEN W3, RASANTE 1200 and  RASANTE 2000, and when wanting to avoid cracks on coverings applied to vertical surfaces,  tiled or else on concrete flooring that show small shrinkage cracks.

It is also used to reinforce NIRPHEN PU when expansion joints or partitions joints need to be covered prior to applying floorings with thick epoxy resins  
 
FIBERGLASS NET 160 is also available in format  AG 370 (370 gr/m²) with higher mechanical resistance when the project need requires it.
